"My husband has been home for over a year. He had a child with the other woman. Before he was home I prayed to God about the promise He gave to Sarah and Abraham about a son. Soon after my husband's return I was pregnant. We now have a healthy baby boy. His birth has had a part in helping our marriage heal and grow. We also have the other child in our lives, which has also been a tremendous blessing to me. God is faithful." (Washington)

“My wife left me due to my sexual sins and lies that I have told her for our entire marriage. On Easter Sunday my pastor had an altar call and it was the first time in ten years that I truly gave my life to my Lord.” (Michigan)

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”  Isaiah 43:2

And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.  Romans 5:2b-5

"I prayed that my husband would come back for Easter and go to church with us. He didn't, but he did come over Easter night. He asked if I had a Bible he could take with him." (South Carolina)

“For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:3

"I prayed recently for my prodigal husband's adulterous long distance relationship to end; for him to lose his cell phone he contacts her with, etc., and for God to have something happen like his car not start when he comes to visit the kids and him decide to stay. After he left today he returned a few minutes later looking for his phone which had fallen out of his pocket, and he said that when he got to the next road his car had stalled and he almost couldn't get it started again! What reassurance that God will break the adultery and return my husband home. Praise the Lord for DOUBLE signs!"  (Tennessee)

"I've been working to understand my hindrances to prayer based upon Charlyne's teachings. Yesterday, while sick in bed, God spoke very clearly and loudly to me. My standing for my prodigal is to demonstrate God's glory and not to draw attention to my discipline or self-sacrifice. I have prayed to die to my pride and flesh and now I understand how. Praise to God." (Minnesota)

“Praise Jesus, my wife has returned home after many months of separation. Yes, it sometimes seemed hopeless, but I cried out to God. Jesus not only returned my wife home but has given me and our family a new life. Our life will now be built on the Rock. There is a lot to do but now we will be doing it with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Do not give up, cry out to the Lord. I will always remember with a smile Charlyne’s words when she says we shouldn't trust what we see with our eyes and hear with our ears when Jesus is our refuge: ‘.. it does not matter.’”  (Finland)

“It is a long time now that I have prayed for our marriage to be restored. Now that I have found you, I am so grateful to know that I am not alone. The day I found your website I asked God for a sign that standing for my marriage is still right for me. Immediately a song came on the radio called, ‘Who Says You Can't Go Home.’ I was stunned by how quickly the Lord moves when we ask for help. I am trusting my marriage will be restored in God's time. He is so good and great!” (New York)

"Each year people bring restored cars and cars in the process of being restored to our city. Sunday our pastor spoke how Jesus is the Restorer. Taking old rusted cars (people) completely apart, sanding them down, putting them back together and making them new. May He restore our spouses and marriages to us." (Idaho)

"Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness." Psalm 37:3

“For God does speak—now one way, now another—though man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, to preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword.” Job 33:14-18

“I am believing the Lord for total restoration. My husband has been saying that we need to talk in order to come up with an exit strategy. I had been praying and fasting and slept like a baby the night before our talk. During this talk, I was able to tell him of my stand; he admitted he is not saved and is concerned for his soul, and the divorce is off the table due to our finances. I pray for healing and forgiveness of anything he's holding against me, for his salvation, for the Lord to be in the midst of our soon-to-be resurrected marriage and for a hedge of protection around our marriage, family and soon-to-be loving relationship with one another. Our Lord is ABLE!”  (Oregon)

"For God does speak - now one way, now another - though man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, to preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword." Job 33:14-18

"We were scheduled to have a four way meeting with our attorneys. I had been praying, and asking for words to get through the process. Before our appt. we had no communication whatsoever, and we never ran into each other. During our appointment. we had time alone, and he asked about my entire family, and about me. Later that day I ran into him again and we had another great conversation. I was able to hug him, kiss him on the cheek, and tell him that I love him."  (California)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

“I have been apart from my wife several years. My prodigal wanted the divorce (well before I knew about RMM) and I knew there was no point in objecting. There was no court hearing and the divorce went through. However, the Lord quickly consoled me. He said that it is only a piece of paper recognized by this world NOT by ME!! Recently I cried out again to the Lord and He gave me Hosea. Eventually, (I always doubt) I read it and Hosea 2:14 stood out. PTL for your encouragement. Keep standing my family.”  (Australia)

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind .Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? Numbers 23:19

"We had all night prayer at my church. I was telling God I need to hear from Him at prayer. The Lord spoke to me by letting me know He is working on my behalf." (Pennsylvania)

The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.  Genesis 2:23-24

This is how God blessed me as I have been praying consistantly for good relationships between my children and their dad: our teenage daughter has been a cause for concern for a while. My prodigal didn't seem to know what to do and was not involved enough in her life. I became totally overwhelmed. Finally the situation reached a breaking point. She ran away to her dad's for several days; enough for him to cue in to her troubles. God used this mess to get my husband's attention and to 'force' both of us to cooperate in order to help her. I determined to support his decisions as he took the leadership role in the situation( although I don't always agree). Yesterday he said he needs and appreciates my encouragements as he has to discipline our daughter as never before. It's really hard for him; he likes being 'sugar daddy'. My relationship with my daughter improved at once. I'm amazed to see how God is always at work. He never wastes any of our situations but uses them to shape us up. PTL  (Canada)

“After many years of standing and waiting on God's promise of a restored marriage, He blessed me with a SUDDENLY! A few weeks ago my husband began texting our daughter. She didn't know how to respond so I reassured her to trust God. We prayed. I comforted and encouraged her through it all. Thankfully she didn't give up. He told her that he wants to have a daddy-daughter outing soon. This is a miracle because he hasn't reached out to her in over three years. For years I've prayed Malachi 4:6. To see the manifestation of God's Word is humbling and encouraging. God continues to amaze me with His faithfulness and His ability to do ALL things. Be encouraged!” (Delaware)

“I was down and out for three days weeping, depressed and broken. The enemy was attacking me with strong suicidal thoughts even as I read the Word of God. My stander friend kept checking up on me and prayed for me. On the third day of my cry, my beloved called me. He sensed I was down over the phone and was concerned. He invited me over to watch the NBA finals game with him. We had a great time together. God answered my cry even when I couldn’t see Him working. Thank the Lord!”  (Florida)

“Thank you, RMM, for your prayers and love! Last week I had a struggle as I received papers from my husband. That day I had a midterm exam due and I had no idea how I'd be able to get through it. I asked many people for prayer and my son prayed and fasted for me in the other room. I got through it and submitted my exam online, and today I just got my grade - 100%!!! God is showing me HE is perfect and that I'm doing the absolute right thing in standing for my marriage. I asked Him for comfort this morning and this news came today. Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow! Thank you, RMM, and fellow standers for your prayers. God is faithful! May all of our prodigals come home as God finds them, the lost sheep. In Jesus' Name, Amen!” (Arizona)

"The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you." Psalm 9:9-10

"Yesterday my husband told me that he wanted a divorce as he has started a new life with the other person. I had been at his house with the kids for a month, where I was forbidden to access my email. We got home yesterday and all of last night I got to catch up on my devotionals. They all hit home. I have no fear, because I know God is working. Thank God for your work in this crazy, unbelieving world." (Jamaica)

"I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees." Psalm 119:10-12

... He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.  Romans 4:17

"A couple of years ago I met someone and in a short time we divorced our spouses and married each other. Everyone’s lives were turned upside down, including children. The Lord convicted us recently and we both agreed we needed to go back and make it work with our covenant spouses. We annulled our marriage and are now prodigals turned standers. God is good, our covenant spouses have forgiven us and we are rebuilding our relationships with our Heavenly Father and also with our spouses." (Kansas) PS from the Steinkamps: May this praise give every stander such hope and encouragement especially if your spouse has 'married' the other person. God does speak to His children even after they have legalized their adultery. God is in the reconciliation and restoration business, turning these two people to Him and back to their covenant spouses. God is faithful. Two more marriages are being restored! Hallelujah!

"After two years of separation, my husband is moving home today. I praise God for this miracle and ask Him for continued blessing on my marriage." (Minnesota)

"I was headed to a women's conference. I heard that the other woman was attending with our group. I panicked knowing we were all staying in the same hotel and had close seats at the event. I started praying that the Lord would give me the strength to stay focused. As I was traveling on the Interstate and praying, asking for direction, I looked up to see a billboard that read 'Start Doing Your Victory Dance.' God is in control." things are possible." (Florida)

“The week my husband left me, I also found out we were expecting. After trying to get pregnant for three years and thinking we weren't able to God sent us a miracle. While many said the timing was horrible, God was telling me He had great plans in store for us and that everything happens in His perfect timing. I moved to be with my family all the way across the country. My praise to God is that my husband came to be with me while I delivered and stayed with our son and I for another week! During this time I saw my family be compassionate and loving towards my husband and let him know he is loved. I saw so many miracles taking place in such a short time and all the glory goes to our Heavenly Father! While he's returned to the OW I know in my heart that God has begun to soften his heart and will return him home soon.” (Washington)

"My husband and I were deceived by the enemy when we separated and then divorced. It was very clear to me that the Lord was nudging me to put my wedding ring back on my finger and stand for my husband's salvation and the healing and restoration of our marriage and family." (Colorado)

"Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens, praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts." Psalm 148:1-2

"My wonderful wife has broken up with the other man. She is turning to me for consolation as God teaches me, the slow learner, what real unconditional love is about. He has given me a love for the other man that makes no sense in the natural. What a blessing it will be to receive His peace when she gives it all to Him." (State Removed)

"The Lord moved mightily last week. My husband came home from deployment and the whole week I could tell God was dealing with him. I am trusting God to keep working." (Florida)

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.  Psalm 18:32

“December has been a long month for me. I asked the Lord if I was really supposed to stand for my marriage. That night I dreamed I was driving in snow and the road was slippery and I had to adjust my speed to maintain control. Then there was a snow storm that took the car in a tailspin; I could not see anything and I cried out to Jesus to save me! When the car rested, it was parked safely surrounded by cars. It was clearly an act of God. I got out the car and slipped, holding on to a tree trunk to prevent from falling in a ditch. People passed me by and either would not or could not help me. There was ONE man who stopped to help me He took His time doing so but I just held on. Wait on God.”  (California)

My husband moved out and our teen aged son left with him. I was having an especially hard day and cried out to the Lord. As I was driving our other son, I changed the radio station to a secular station I never listen to, and the song playing was our song. I felt such peace and know God is always in control. (Colorado)

“Six months to the day after he moved out, my husband texted me to say he had ended the relationship with the other woman and was coming home. I know we have a hard road of rebuilding ahead of us, but it is so worth it. God keeps His promises, and I know He will be faithful to complete the work of restoration He has started in our marriage. Early in my stand, God gave me Exodus 14:13-14 and it was true. I didn't have to do anything but trust, wait patiently, and keep my mouth shut. God did the work!”  (Minnesota)

“My husband told me that we needed to separate and that he did not love me anymore. He has seemed very lost and confused. This crisis in our marriage brought me to my knees and I would cry out to the Lord constantly. The Lord reassured me that HE had this and I needed to just get up off my knees and praise Him! My husband decided to file for divorce. I told him I would not fight it, but also would sign nothing. The court date came and he told the judge that he had decided that he loved his wife and we would work on our marriage. He is now in the midst of dismissing it. Praise the Lord for His goodness!”  (Arkansas)

“Today I went on my husband's Facebook page which I rarely do anymore because I usually see something that bothers me but today was different. I saw that he was a member of a page called FATHER THANK YOU. This is a miracle because my husband is an unbeliever and doesn’t believe in God at all. I couldn’t believe it! I am praying and believing that God will speak to him through this page every day as he gets status updates and it will convict him to repent, leave the other woman and come back to his family. I know God is moving even if I can’t see it! We serve a God of miracles! Hallelujah!”  (New Jersey)

"God gave me a wonderful day on my birthday. I passed a Covenant Transport truck on the way to work. I had lunch with a fellow stander. I saw another Covenant truck on the way home in the rain, as well as the most beautiful rainbow. As I turned onto my street I passed my prodigal. God blessed me with His presence and the assurance that He is in control." (Georgia) (You can read what Covenant Transport trucks mean to some standers from - http://rejoiceministries.org/covenant_transport.php )

"I have been praying for God to send a Christian mentor to my husband and God answered. The court ordered my husband to receive counseling and he will be meeting a man from my church. I was in awe of the Lord. He does answer prayers." (California)

“I have become a stander for the reconciliation of our marriage, but more importantly, for my wife's salvation. I read two of Bob and Charlyne's books this weekend: After The Prodigal Returns, and The Spiritual Journey Toward A Healed Marriage. Near the end of this last book, there is ‘A Prayer for Your Spouse and Family.’ In that prayer, it includes the following line: ‘I pray that You will speak to my spouse in a vision of the night when deep sleep falls on them, as they slumber in their bed. Speak in their ears and terrify them with warning, to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride.’ I had prayed this prayer the last two nights. My wife called telling me about the weird experience she has been having the past two nights. A light has been shining into her room in the night. The first night it halfway woke her up, last night it fully woke her up and she was looking out the windows trying to figure out what was causing this. PTL!”  (Oregon)

"I found this site when my husband and I separated. During the separation, my relationship with Jesus has grown. His love for me is beautiful. God has restored my life and my marriage."  (North Carolina)

"My prodigal has been home for a week, sleeping on the couch. He has not yet committed to working on our marriage but said he doesn't have plans to go anywhere. Praise God he brought my husband home under the cover of my prayers." (North Carolina)

"Our divorce was set and I just received a notice in the mail that the divorce was dismissed. Praise the Lord. I have been praying about a miracle over the divorce and placed the paperwork inside my Bible and look what the Lord has done. Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross for all our sins." (Michigan)

"I asked God for a job working from home and He gave me two. Now I can work at home while my kids are in school and still take care of the needs of my household. This is the first Thanksgiving in 3 years that I have been able to communicate with my prodigal. It was so special for me to wish him Happy Thanksgiving and to tell him that I love him even though we are not yet spending dinner together. I still thank God that He has blessed us to be able to communicate again." (Maryland)
