“I was the prodigal. When I returned home (after accepting Christ as my Savior) my wife was so hurt she wanted a divorce. I have been standing for many months, and our court date is fast approaching. All day yesterday I was considering sending my wife a video message of fireworks because I know she loves fireworks. I merely wanted to make her smile. However, we haven't been speaking much lately and I didn't want to bother her. I was also thinking about giving up on our marriage. As I was on my way home from work I was praying, asking God if I should give up....just then I saw a firework shoot though the air and explode, lighting up the sky. IT'S NOVEMBER..there shouldn't be fireworks!! I took this as my sign from God to not give up, even though it looks bleak. I'm praying for ALL marriages! May all prodigals see the fireworks and go home to their loving, waiting spouses.” (Wisconsin)
"I was crying out to the Lord, just wanting to hear my prodigal’s voice. That afternoon when I arrived home my spouse had left a message on my home answering machine. He didn't know he had called my home by accident. The Lord answered my prayer and I got to hear his voice. What an amazing God we serve." (Australia)
"After months of not talking to my husband he called last week and wanted to meet me to give me the rest of my belongings. Yesterday he asked instead of just doing an exchange, if we could have dinner. I see God is softening my husband’s heart. I praise God for how He is working on my behalf." (Pennsylvania)
“I had sent a message to my husband telling him the details on my Granddad’s funeral but he hadn't responded so I had given up hope of him coming. But he came! He arrived just as I got up to give my tribute to my Granddad. I feel it was significant and God's timing for him to walk in and straight away hear me speaking from my heart about my Granddad - in fact the first story I shared was about a time when we went to see him together. He walked with me to the gravesite and greeted all my family. I don't want to try to guess how God is working but as there are three weeks until he can apply for absolute on the divorce I know this meeting must be significant.” (United Kingdom)
“Last Friday was a challenging day for me. Later that day I attended worship band practice. I had a blessed time worshiping our Lord and Savior. On my drive home, which was very late at night, I was pouring my heart out to God. Out of nowhere at a stop light was a Covenant Transport truck. I couldn't believe my eyes. Where we live these trucks are not around. Thank You Jesus for Your reminders You are in control.” (California)
"I received a loving voice mail from my prodigal spouse wishing me a happy birthday three days early. His early call came on our wedding anniversary. It was God's perfect timing for a much needed boost of encouragement. Thank You, Jesus for a joyous birthday miracle." (North Carolina)
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3
"Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ. We serve an awesome God. He has changed my heart. My husband came around today and I told him I am standing and waiting for his return. He told me that he still loves me and wants me to be in his life. There is a lot still to be sorted, but I trust my Lord will bring him home." (South Africa)
Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. Psalm 149:1
"I am praising the Lord that my God brought my husband home this past weekend. It was very suddenly. Thank you Bob and Charlyne for your wisdom and direction on how to stand. I thank God for you both. There is much to continue to stand for, but God can do anything." (Arizona)
"Every year I invite my spouse to spend Christmas and New Years with me. Every year I receive no answer to my emails, just silence. This year I planned not to invite him. I sent the invitation to his email address as the Lord encouraged me. This year, he answered me. The first time he has responded in years. Both answers were still no but his heart and reply were both soft. Praise to God." (Canada)
"I have been praying for my husband to come back home. Today I received an answer from my Lord. I felt my Lord's love for me and the love was so amazing that I cried. I know this is the love that I have been searching for and ignored for so long. I am praying for my husband to feel that same love. Praise the Lord." (Canada)
"After our divorce had been finalized, God has been softening my husband’s heart and opening up communication again. I fasted on Thanksgiving and prayed for my husband to be here for Christmas. Less than a week after Thanksgiving he called me and told me he is falling in love with me again. He is planning on coming for Christmas. Praising Jesus for my restoration is coming soon." (Michigan)
"I spent the last week fasting and praying for supernatural intervention from God. On my way home today from work I saw a license plate that read Isaiah 62 and then I saw a Covenant truck. I started praising the Lord and thanking Him for what I know He has already done in my marital situation and for what I know without a doubt He will continue to do. To God be all the Glory. He is worthy of all praise, honor and glory." (Ohio)
"My husband’s heart was hardened and things seemed hopeless. I gave up and asked Jesus to take away the love I had for him. Jesus never took it away and kept reminding me to walk by faith not by sight. After months, Jesus allowed our family to go on a trip together. I am witnessing the Holy Spirit turn my husband’s heart from stone to flesh and back to his family." (Florida)
"Due to the economy, my ex-wife, children and I still live in the same home. There have been no beneficial opportunities here in New Jersey and our home is going into foreclosure. The Lord has sent my brother and his wife to rescue us; offering to relocate us to San Diego. By God's Grace, my bride agreed for all of us to go out west together, saying we will part once each is stable enough financially. There are no jobs lined up, no home for us to live in as of yet. But I know God is working on her heart and is in control as we take this ‘leap of faith’ together. Praise be to Jesus!" (New Jersey)
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you." Psalm 84:1-2
"The last few months I have been feeling down and angry. Many a time I wanted to give up. Today my divorced husband arrived from the United States. He had traveled half way around the world to visit me in Australia. Thank You, Lord, that You're faithful even when I am not." (Australia)
“My wife and I have been divorced for two months now and she wanted to celebrate the holidays and other events for the kids together. She came over to the house she left four months ago, two days before Christmas at my invitation. She wasn’t feeling well and has now stayed three nights. Christmas was wonderful for the kids and I. She still doesn't seem happy at all, but it is a milestone to have her come over and then to stay as long as she has. God is definitely working. Her heart is softening. I pray the Armor of God on her and the children daily. I pray scripture with her name in them daily. I am showing her unconditional love and tell her I want her to come home at every opportunity. I know the prayers are working. God is good and I trust Him to finish the homecoming permanently. Jesus Christ is real and He loves us more than we can imagine.” (Texas)
“I just have to testify of God's Word that brings peace in the midst of the storm. During a phone conversation with my spouse I was given some news about divorce proceedings that could have been upsetting. I hung up and knew the Holy Spirit was telling me I had two choices, either get depressed or get victory. Because of the current RMM message I had been listening to, I immediately chose victory! I opened my Bible and prayed the Word over the situation. God showed me that what my spouse had just told me was actually just more information on guiding me on how to pray!Psalm 118:14-28has become my victory prayer. Verses 24-25 state, ‘This day belongs to the LORD! Let's celebrate and be glad today. We’ll ask the Lord to save us! We’ll sincerely ask the Lord to let us win.’ Praise God, He brings victory to all standers and He lets us win.” (Ohio)
“Praise God for blessing me with a wonderfully supportive mother-in-law. She has held my hand since the day my beloved husband left. She introduced me to a local stander's support group taught by a miraculously restored couple. I have leaned on her for daily support and every time I feel hopeless she speaks the Word of God to me. Even my own ‘blood’ relatives don't support me, but my mother-in-law. She also helps me financially and is the biggest supporter of her grandchild. I do not know where I would be without her. Thank You, LORD for blessing me with someone who knows, lives and breathes the Word of GOD and to mentor, encourage, and stand with me for the restoration of my marriage. I will continue to pray that our entire family, and all families and marriages, are restored. PTL!” (Arizona)
“My wife and I shared a slow dance and a kiss during an evening only intended to be for building a friendship. She does not want to date nor come home but we have had two family events since! Only God could have made that night happen for us. I have strayed from standing several times, but when I get on track I see the Holy Spirit move!” (California)
“I know God is good and awesome! Last weekend I was invited to go for supper with my son’s soccer team, so I prayed for God to give me a sign if I should go. A few minutes later my husband called asking if I was going. We had a discussion and I zipped my lips and guarded my mouth. I ended up going and had a great time. Later I was in the car, crying out to God, asking Him to show me a Kingsway truck (we do not have Covenant Transport trucks here). Because of the road I was taking there was no way I would see one there. But not long after this, a truck came out of nowhere and, yes, it was a Kingsway truck! God made a way where I thought there'd be no way. All the Glory be to God! I’m now just waiting for my beloved husband to come home. God does hear and answer us, it’s just a matter of time” (Canada)
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. John 1:12-13
"I felt led from the Lord to write my dear husband to let him know that I am praying for him and that even though he says that he doesn't love me that I still love him. He emailed me back thanking me for my prayers. I was so ecstatic I started dancing." (Florida)
"Pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." Matthew 5:44
"My wife plans to marry and my daughters are devastated. I can see right into my wife's heart. It is cold and black. I have had many people in her inner circle tell me that she and he are miserable. I know what God has promised me - reconciliation." (Washington)
"I recently passed a significant milestone of the day my wife left. It was quite discouraging. That same week my son filled out a survey for his new teacher this year. Question: If you could have anything, regardless of money or natural ability, what would you choose? Why? My son's answer: 'I would like hope. I want hope because I need my family together at last.' Yes, I cried. What more motivation could this father need to keep standing for his marriage and family!" (Indiana)
This is what theLord says:"Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,"declares the Lord. "They will return from the land of the enemy." Jeremiah 31:16
“For all those who lose hope... I want to thank and praise the Lord. My husband gave me the old ‘we are divorced, I'm moving on with my life, I'm in a relationship, I can no longer speak with you or see you’ speech. Yes it hurt but I really wasn't fazed for I knew God has His own ways of bringing us together. And that day came! Out of the blue, my husband called me and said I was the only one who knew him, and that I had told him that if he ever needed to talk that I was here. He needed to talk. Only the Lord knows how far on the journey of restoration we are and by my eyes the horizon is nowhere in sight. But just because you have no children, and can't see a way to bring you and your spouse together, does not mean God can't do it for you. The best part is, my spouse sees it was not my manipulation, it was GOD!” (Illinois)
"I had work done on my car and asked God to meet this need as it was more than I could afford. My husband knew that my car was in the garage. When the mechanic called to let me know the car was ready, he told me the bill was less than $50. I couldn't believe my ears and asked him to repeat it and he said my husband had been in earlier and given him $500 toward the repair of my car. Praise the Lord." (New York)
“But you would be fed with the finest of wheat; with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.” Psalm 81:16

“When I began my stand, my concern was not the time it would take. What overcame my heart with grief was the thought of infidelity. God knew my grief, so He gave me a weapon, Hosea 2:6. When I began doubting if it would actually work, I was reading Charlyne's The Spiritual Journey Toward A Healed Marriage when off the page jumped 2 Corinthians 10:4. I know God is faithful, and he will turn my husband away from any stronghold. For it is written,‘His word will not return him void, but will achieve the purpose for which he sent it...Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper.’ Isaiah 55:11a,13a. Praise God!” (Florida)
"I was taking my son shopping and we saw a surplus store. We went in and saw a book of a true story about adultery and the marriage was restored. It really inspired me to keep standing for my marriage. Thank You, Lord for that hidden treasure just for me." (Canada)
"Praise be to our God. This week was a trying week for me and I thank the Lord for Charlyne Cares. After not speaking to my husband for months he started texting me out of the blue. He says he misses his family and wants to come home. I thank God that He is moving by His Spirit and my prayers were not in vain." (California)
"Praise is a powerful weapon against our enemy. I just received an email from my estranged daughter thanking me for praying for her and asking me to continue. God is softening her heart and I just know He is at work in my whole family for His will to be done." (California)
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3
“The pain that I've been feeling lately has been quite unbearable. I feel at times as if I am fighting hell just to stay in this stand. However, one important lesson I've learned in this stand is to seek the Lord for answers and comfort. One particular night I questioned the Lord about my future and wondered if there was still hope for me. I started reading the Word through my tears and the Holy Spirit led me to Jeremiah 31:16-17 (NIV). Although the heartache is still there, I know that I know, that my Lord knows about it. He knows my pain which is what matters most.” (New York)
“God is amazing! I recently learned that my employment contract will not be renewed due to reorganization and budget constraints. Although I am a bit nervous about finances, I keep hearing God tell me that this is an opportunity to change careers and focus. For the last year or so I have been praying for guidance on the type of work God wants me to do. I see this news as answer to prayer. God has changed me so much because while the circumstances could be paralyzing, they are not. I see this as one more step to reconciliation with my prodigal and moving toward the work and life God has planned for us. I am so blessed.” (Iowa)
"My husband and I have been separated for a few months. He still calls to check on me. The past week he did not call and I was feeling sad. I prayed to the Lord one morning and asked Him to give me strength and to give me a small sign that He is working on our marriage. Minutes after I prayed my husband called. Praise be to God. He clearly spoke to me saying that He has the power to do anything." (Florida)
"I heard a sermon about putting action behind your faith. Right away I thought of my anniversary which was approaching. I immediately made reservations at a nice restaurant and told my wife. She said there was no way she was going to celebrate something she was trying to end. On the day of our anniversary I decided that I would go without her. She called that day to say she would go. God was faithful as I was obedient." (Texas)
I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly. Psalm 40:10
"It is by the grace of God that I am still standing. I read the message on June 5 and was truly blessed. It has been many years and I am patiently waiting and interceding with prayer and faith. God said it and He will perform it." (Texas)
"My husband has been home for a few months after many false attempts. He is going to a Christian college majoring in theology. Sometimes I think that God has a sense of humor since my spouse is still not living a Christian life yet he wants to study in a Christian environment. This was also our first Thanksgiving together in many years and we went to Florida to visit family. For the first time I saw the Rejoice billboard that reads 'Forgive Them.'" (Georgia)

“God has fulfilled His promise to me in restoring my marriage. My prodigal and I are now remarried! The changes in our relationship are because of God changing both of us. To God, I give all the glory for He is the designer of miracles. I have been standing over 13 years.” (Missouri)
